Podcast Ep 10: Finding Your Niche in Private Practice with Meg Ferguson

In this episode, Meagan and Meg sit down to discuss niches and how Meg’s past work as a social worker in healthcare helped her find a niche as a trauma therapist. Meg shares how she’s learned to recognize her strengths in social work and therapy and what it looks like to refer patients out if she thinks someone else could be a better fit for them. She also gives her recommendations on finding your own niche if you haven’t yet, and the freedom to shift and change niches over time.

Megan Ferguson is from Winnipeg, MB and is a social worker by background. She started her career working in healthcare and started her private practice on the side in August 2019. She now only works part-time in healthcare and has taken on additional private practice clients. Meg has training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and her specialty is trauma-based counselling. She loves her work as a therapist and finds it such a privilege to do the work and walk with people in their journey.
